We play at weddings all year round, but as everyone knows, summer is peak wedding season and this year has been a busy one. We’ve even reached our new record of 5 weddings in 5 days.
Each wedding has been unique, and we’ve had such a great variety of themes including vintage, beach and festival. We’ve played in beautiful big marquees, cosy pubs, barns and even a boathouse.
We’ve had so much fun and there have been many epic moments from both the band and the audiences.
Crowd surfing has been very popular this year, starting with a crowdsurfing bridesmaid, then the following week it was the bride, and we’ve since had several crowdsurfing grooms.
We’ve had couples rocking out onstage with the band, and lots of enthusiastic guest singers, air guitarists and backing dancers.
We’ve been impressed by several couples who embraced a wedding day of monsoon rains with such positive attitudes that they and all their guests had just as good a time as those who landed blue sky and sunshine.
We’ve also been impressed by wedding parties who still danced the night away when sound limiters were against us and they had to have a muffled (but still high energy) version of Monstaball. More on that from Al, who is writing a blog with everything you could wish to know about sound limiters from the front line.
So all in all summer has been a huge and happy wedding success, and we’d like to say thankyou to everyone who booked us to be part of their big day, and everyone who got hot & sweaty with us on many dancefloors!
